Absolutely beautiful. I picked this up as my family is Jewish / Muslim throughout and I wanted some kind of connection to that. This was a fantastic start.
First off, before I start my review, I would like to thank NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC of this delightful ebook: 'Dear Moon' - Inspiration from the Beautiful Wisdom of the Qur'an by Zayneb Haleem.
Not only are the translations by the author but so is the art! Absolutely need you all to read this for me right now. I am not a religious person, but I could be maybe, this is decidedly beautiful and I am going to need to read more of the Qur'an ASAP. There's not much to tell as it would spoil the beauty of it all. It's some translations of one of the most beautiful religious books ever written by man. The books are always one of the most beautiful things about religion.
I would buy this for a family member for their children.
This is such a beautiful book. In the book you follow a little girl as she explores the wisdom of the Qur'an. The verses and the art together are wonderful.
I would recommend this book to everyone who wants to read about the Qur'an with their kids.
I received an advance review copy (ARC) for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was absolutely darling!! I could not get over how beautiful tomorrow it was. I loved it so much. Wonderfully done Zayneb Haleem.
Very good motivation book.
It give everything I wanted.
Highly recommend and it was also so cute for some reason.
The art work is beautiful and can speak to you as much, if not more, than the written words! It makes the Qu'ran very approachable.
Zayneb Haleem has crafted a beautiful story both visually and through selection of passages from the Qur'an. There are many inspirational and uplifting quotes which guide a little girl through the mountains and valleys of life. This is a unique work that should make its way to library shelves and hopefully open the door to more Qur'an-inspired literature for young people. The illustrations stand out as beautiful, peaceful work that offer hope and serenity to the reader.
Filled with beautiful illustrations and quotes.
A very quick read.
This is the authors favourite Qur’anic and Islamic verses.
This is just a beautiful book overall. The quotes/passages from the Qur'an are so lovely and inspirational and the artwork is gorgeous
This picture book is something I will keeping returning to. It has uplifting verses of the Quran accompanied by lilting illustrations that make you pause in reverie and silence. The author's deliberate pick of verses which ponder on thoughtfulness, positivity, and reassurance.
The illustrations lift you up with their atmospheric presence, and there is a sense of calmness that permeates though them. The author, who herself illustrated the book has skilfully managed to capture the hope that accompanies the verse in those illustrations.
The thoughtful prompts that encourage you to celebrate how far you have come, to be grateful and appreciative of where you are, and to look forward with positivity and hope to your next path.
This is a book that can be cherished by all ages.
This is a visually stunning book filled with beautiful illustrations (done by the author) and passages from the Qur'an. Christians will be struck by the similarities to familiar scriptures in the Bible.
The book is uplifting and gives an overall sense of calm and peace. A very good read Recommended for people of all ages.
