Astro Herbalism by Jessica Rosset was such a fascinating and refreshing read for me. I absolutely loved the way she connects the celestial with the botanical, showing how different herbs and plants correspond not only with the Sun and Moon but also with each of the planets. It felt like peeling back a hidden layer of both astrology and herbalism, and the way the book merges the two made it so engaging and unique.

What stood out to me most was how detailed and in-depth the material was. It’s not just a surface level “this herb goes with this planet” type of book; it really dives into why these correspondences exist, how they influence energy, and how to actually use them in practice for wellness and manifestation. I especially appreciated the Mercury section. Mercury tends to get a bad reputation in astrology (hello, Mercury retrograde!) but it’s always been my favorite planet. I loved learning how to harness that energy instead of fearing it, and how to really align it with my own sign. That section alone gave me so much clarity and a fresh perspective.

The tone of the book is both informative and approachable, and I really felt like I was learning something new on every page. The blend of astrology as a “roadmap of the soul” with herbalism as a tool for grounding and balance made perfect sense, and she explained it in a way that felt empowering rather than intimidating.

And I can’t forget to mention the recipes at the end! I adored that inclusion; it’s one thing to read about theory, but getting to use the herbs in teas, oils, and blends makes the whole practice feel alive and accessible. I’ve already marked several that I’m excited to try. The pictures throughout the book are also absolutely stunning!

Overall, Astro Herbalism is a beautiful guide for anyone interested in weaving astrology and herbal wisdom together. It’s packed with insights, practical applications, and a fresh perspective on how the cosmos and the plant world mirror and support each other. I came away feeling both inspired and better equipped to use these connections in my own daily life. I am so excited about this book and implementing so much of it into my life and my astrology practice!

Thank you to NetGalley, Jessica Rosset, and Timber Press for the eARC of this book.

Thank you for granting my wish!

Astro Herbalism is such a beautiful blend of two things I already love: herbalism and astrology. Jessica Rosset does a wonderful job showing how these two practices have worked together since ancient times and how we can use them today for balance and self-discovery.

The writing is approachable, the illustrations are stunning and I really appreciated the little touches: like advice on where to pull your birth chart and the easy-to-follow structure of planets, signs and herbs. My favorite part was reaching my sign/planet and realizing how perfectly it matched my love of rose-flavored everything.

This is a relaxing, inspiring read filled with rituals, recipes and wisdom. I’ll definitely be dipping back into it often. 5 stars from me!

Astro Herbalism is a stunning blend of beauty, wisdom, and practical magic. Jessica Rosset has created something truly special here, a book that not only teaches but nourishes the soul. The writing gracefully weaves together the worlds of astrology and herbalism, showing how the celestial and botanical realms mirror one another in their rhythms and energies. It’s both insightful and grounding, perfect for anyone interested in holistic wellness, plant magic, or self-discovery.

What makes this book even more captivating are Anna Stead’s gorgeous illustrations. Each page feels like a piece of art, lush, detailed, and full of life. The artwork draws you deeper into the connection between plants and planets, making every herb feel like a personality of its own.

The recipes and correspondences are practical yet enchanting, offering ways to integrate Venusian herbs, lunar blends, and solar tonics into your everyday rituals. Whether you’re a seasoned herbalist or someone just beginning to explore astro-alchemy, this book serves as a timeless reference.

Astro Herbalism is the kind of book you’ll want to keep on your altar or coffee table, a beautiful guide that inspires both learning and living in harmony with nature and the cosmos.

I'm just starting to look into stuff related to my birth chart, but Astro Herbalism was the perfect read for me at this time. As I mentioned, I'm a beginner in this area and Astro Herbalism is well organized and easy to understand for those just learning about their birth chart. However, I am a bit more versed in herbalism and I really enjoyed how Rosset brought the two together. I appreciate the ties that she made, the warning given when necessary and the recipes for a bit of hands on work that were included at the end. I love a book with a recipe so I can get creative and this includes bath salts, incense, elixirs, and other things that I think those who like a good jar spell will enjoy.

Another thing that I want to mention is how gorgeous the illustrations were. They're charming and really help to capture the magical tone that the book sets. Honestly, I want a copy of the book just so I can stare at the pictures. Okay, yes, the information is equally important, but I adored the pictures.

Overall, I think this is a great book for those wanting to dip their toes into this subject. Easy to read and understand, but also beautiful to look at.
All around, I highly recommend. My only complaint is that I want more recipes, but I always want more recipes.

This was a great introductory book to Astro Herbalism. It is an intriguing topic that Rosett presents in an approachable and informative way. The illustrations are gorgeous.

Rosett outlines each planet and the connection it has to different archetypal elements and herbs. For instance, Neptune corresponds with dreams and spirituality and is a planet of intuition. Rosett outlines which herbs are associated with Neptune and how they can help you access heightened awareness and inspiration. I can not wait to purchase a hard copy of this as my own guide!

There is a recipes and ritual section too that helps you take what you learn and apply it to your practice!

This was a completely new topic to me and after reading this book, I have a newfound interest and understanding of Astro Herbalism.

Thank you NetGalley and Timber Press for the opportunity to read an advance copy in exchange for feedback!

Astro Herbalism is a beautiful, thoughtful blend of astrology and plant medicine. I loved how detailed yet approachable it felt. I didn't feel out of my element when reading it. It's rich with information but never overwhelming, and it connects the emotional, spiritual, and herbal components in a really grounded, meaningful way. The artistry of this book truly stands out too. The illustrations are stunning and make each section feel special and intentional.

I obviously read the digital copy, but I cannot wait to own the physical book. Tt’s one I’ll keep going back to again and again. Perfect for anyone interested in astrology, healing, and ritual with depth and heart.

I thought this book was an interesting blend of astrology and plant medicine. It was detailed but never felt super overwhelming. However, right away you need to know your birth chart, so without a good understanding of such a chart, the reader will be lost in the beginning. I suggest diving in to your birth information first before proceeding with the rest of the book. Otherwise, the illustrations were fantastic and I thought the overall concept of the book was well worth the read!

This is a slim book (129 pages) packed with a lot of information for those of us who are into astrology, herbs, and herbalism. Each of the planets, and the sun and moon, are associated with herbs to enhance the planet. While the book doesn't go into deep depth, the information given makes it an excellent quick reference. There are several recipes in the back associated with the planets and herbs. A bonus is the beautiful illustrations throughout the book. I now need a hardcopy of the book so I can underline and have on my shelf to reference again and again. #netgallery #astroherbalism

Astro Herbalism by Jessica Rosset is a beautifully woven guide that blends planetary wisdom with plant medicine in a way that feels both grounded and magical. As someone who already has a solid foundation in astrology and herbalism, I appreciated how the author connected the energies of celestial bodies with herbal practices in a way that felt fresh. The book provides depth without becoming overwhelming, making it useful for both beginners and readers who already have some experience.

The explanations of each planet and zodiac sign are clear and thoughtfully crafted. Rosset does a great job of tying these cosmic influences back to everyday emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being. I found myself taking notes on how different planetary themes could enhance or balance certain herbal supports.

The herbal profiles were especially informative. Each plant is tied to planetary rulership, emotional themes, and physical uses, offering readers multiple ways to apply the information. The tone feels like a blend of teacher and guide, which makes the material easy to absorb.

While I found the content fascinating, I do wish the book had even more hands-on examples or rituals. Still, the information provided invites readers to experiment and deepen their practice independently. Overall, this is an inspiring and insightful resource for anyone interested in connecting astrology with herbalism.

This such an amazing book! I loved learning about the various herbs and plants in relation to the human body and the different cycles of the moon/sun. I was able to pull my personal birth chart and reference the different herbs to the corresponding planetary houses. very fascinating! This will definitely appeal to anyone who works with astral signs, birth charts and loves a herbal recipes. (tons of bath, tea, incense ritual references). Fantastic!

This book is... beyond. Simply beyond. It's not what I expected; it's better. I went through it in one sitting, but I plan to purchase it immediately because it deserves a place on my shelf. Not only is it spectacular to look at (every page is a delight), but this compact little reference text isn't one of those spiritual monster-sized books that will sit on my shelf, intimidating me, and never get picked up. Astro Herbalism is something I will grab and reference again and again.

As a clairaudient medium, an astrology fan, and someone who works with flower essences on a daily basis, Astro Herbalism was right up my alley (thank you, NetGalley, for this granted wish to read and review!). This text is far better than doing my own online research for what plants I need for what challenges I'm encountering in my life, because it understands the human being at a soul level and addresses the essence of that person - their true self. Broken up into planetary chapters, you can get right down to what celestial body might be shifting things inside you and uncover the best plant friend to lift you right out of it.

I will ten on ten recommend this text in my next newsletter to my clients, but stress that this is a must-have in physical format. My computer screen did not do this text justice, I'm sure. I can't wait to grab a physical copy and start making notes on my favourite pages.

I have some criticism of the text. First, unless someone has more than a beginner's understanding of astrology and their astrological chart, this book may leave them at a bit of a loss. It's worth noting that in the synopsis.

Second, the recipes section at the end will likely appeal to a lot of readers, but to me, it felt like filler. In addition, it leaned more towards the pagan (spellwork) side, rather than the knowledge and study of astrology and herbalism. I think it would have been more valuable to include topics such as astrology and herbalism history, foraging tips, holistic tips and tricks, the power of flower essences, a rundown of essential oils, etc.

Despite this, I still give it five stars because I intend to reference Astro Herbalism often - for work and personal use.

Astro Herbalism is one of those rare books that feels like it was crafted by magic rather than printed on paper. From the moment I opened it, I knew this was something special, a stunning fusion of astrology, plant lore, and witchcraft that speaks directly to the soul of anyone who works with both the stars and the green world. The artwork alone is breathtaking. Every page feels like stepping into a beautifully illustrated grimoire, with rich, evocative imagery that enhances the text rather than distracting from it. It’s the kind of book you’ll find yourself slowly turning, not wanting to rush because every spread deserves to be savored. What truly elevates this book is the depth and clarity of the information. The way planetary energies, zodiac archetypes, and herbal allies are woven together is both intuitive and deeply informative. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or someone still learning how to align their magic with the cosmos, this book offers practical guidance, thoughtful insights, and a framework that actually makes sense and feels usable. This is not just a reference book, it’s a working witch’s companion. You can feel the respect for both astrology and herbalism in every chapter, and it empowers the reader to build a more intentional, aligned, and magical practice.

A huge thank you to the publisher for granting my wish and providing me with an advance copy. This was truly a gift, and I’m beyond grateful to have had the chance to experience such a gorgeous and thoughtfully crafted book.

If you’re a witch who loves the stars, the plants, and the sacred space where they meet, Astro Herbalism belongs on your altar and in your hands.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for granting me this wish in exchange for my honest review! I am so very impressed by this little herbalist handbook! I will be honest, I do not have a strong opinion on astrology, but even from a herbalist's point of view, this is a beautiful, concise book that will make a great gift. It does give you a breakdown of both astrological and practical use information. I was very pleased to see that the uses covered are actually science-based and factual, and there are warnings related to the use of some of the herbs, so not only is it beautiful but also quite a factual and responsibly drafted handbook! Absolutely recommend as a gift for someone (or yourself!). I only got the e-copy—I would imagine the hardcopy looks even better.

Book Review: *Astro Herbalism* by Jessica Rosset

Rating: 5 Stars

I just finished *Astro Herbalism* by Jessica Rosset, and honestly, I’m blown away. This book is such a gorgeous blend of astrology and herbalism — two worlds that, when combined, feel incredibly powerful and deeply nurturing. Rosset takes you on a journey that connects the stars above with the plants here on Earth, helping you explore not just remedies for the body but insights for the soul.

The core idea is simple but profound: astrology offers a cosmic map of our inner strengths and challenges, while herbalism connects us to nature’s healing energy. Together, they create a holistic approach to wellness and self-discovery. The book breaks down each celestial body and its astrological sign, from the vibrant Sun to mysterious Pluto, explaining how their unique energies influence our lives. Then, it pairs those energies with specific plants that resonate with each planet’s vibe, showing how we can use these herbs to bring balance, heal, and enhance our well-being.

What really makes *Astro Herbalism* stand out are the stunning illustrations by Anna Stead. Every page is like a little work of art — rich, detailed, and alive with color and life. The artwork doesn’t just decorate the book; it pulls you deeper into the magical relationship between the plants and planets, making each herb feel like it has its own distinct personality.

The practical side of this book is just as enchanting. You’ll find recipes for blends and tonics inspired by Venus, the Moon, the Sun, and others—perfect for incorporating into daily rituals. Whether you’re a seasoned pro in herbalism or just curious about astro-alchemy, this book offers timeless wisdom that you’ll want to return to again and again.

Honestly, I can’t recommend *Astro Herbalism* enough. It’s one of those rare books that’s not just informative but also deeply nourishing for the soul. Plus, with its beautiful cover and gorgeous illustrations, make it a joy to have on your shelf — a perfect companion for anyone interested in being more in tune with herbalism and astrology.

A huge thank you to Timber Press for granting my wish for this one! I was so excited to see this on NetGalley after reading a few different herb books on here recently.

To start off, I do not have a lot of experience in herbs or astrology but this book was super interesting. The pace is informative but gentle and not overwhelming. I love how Jessica ties together the celestial with the botanical.

My favorite part is probably the recipes. I really loved the Lunar Dream Tea.

I love how the book is structured and the images are pretty. I would definitely purchase a copy as a table book. I know my friends would love to flip through this one!
