I was not ready for how amazing this book was going to be. The god of sight being indebted a badass assassin?
The banter had me kicking my feet and giggling. I read it in one sitting! I also thought I was knew who the murderer was like 3 times. Wow! Can’t wait for the next one.

Roisin, an indestructible assassin who loves pretty dresses and happens to hold the chains for Thaddeus, forgotten God of Sight. Required to answer her commands, Thaddeus despises the mortal woman who continuously calls upon him for rescue from dungeons. As Roisin and Thaddeus pretend to be a married couple aboard a ship as part of an escape plot, the passengers keep getting murdered around them. This who dunnit style writing had me captivated from the very beginning, eager to turn the page and follow along. The banter between our MMC and FMC is top tier, and this book quickly cracked the top 5 for me.

I cannot wait to continue reading anything and everything Caitlan Honer publishes.

I fear I’m obsessed. Who would’ve thought that all I needed in my life was an indestructible assassin, a blind god of sight, and a sea-faring murder mystery?

First, the characters: Roisin, equal parts feminine and lethal; an assassin sworn to enact a god’s bidding yet receive no acknowledgement or care in return, then Thaddy, Thaddeus, a jaded god who despises the chains that bind him to his mortal master.

You won’t find a better enemies to lovers situation than these two. There is, in fact, no better entertainment than reading the creative ways in which these two despise each other and envision each other’s demise.

The banter is top tier. The ensuing obsession is delightful. Thaddeus’ slow descent into utter devotion mixed with his own disgust is *chef’s kiss*.

But beyond the characters? The writing! The plot! The mystery! I am so entertained!

Infinite star read. I wish I could say for certain this was a standalone, but I’m not entire sure. I’m crossing my fingers that we get a sequel, if only to explore the slowest burn that never quite ignited into a flame between our two MCs.
