Description

A nearly 40-year-old woman must embrace the magic of a mysterious Salem house and the unexpected friendships it brings to rebuild her life while navigating dangerous hexes and flirty feelings for the town’s cursed bachelor in the first installment of The Lost Souls Series

From the moment Ursula Cambridge, a 38-year-old woman from the Midwest, realizes she’s become invisible in her life and relationship, she and her Irish Wolfhound, Casper get a magical invitation to live in The Lost Souls House in Salem, Massachusetts.

There, she finds herself immersed in a magical town, living in a house with a graveyard that hosts the lost souls, one of Salem’s mysteries that keeps the town and tourists guessing, and some would do anything to keep their dark origin a mystery.

As she struggles to find her footing in this town, four women come around her, showing her the importance of community, friendship, and magical camaraderie when they wake up with more than margarita hangovers and find that their playful graveyard hexes worked.

When Ursula bumps into the town bachelor who is rumored to be cursed, she tries to steer clear of his unreasonably grumpy disposition but finds herself drawn to his surly, yet vulnerable, teenage niece Bess, who forms an attachment to Ursula.

Thrown into the middle of a modern-day witch hunt, Ursula has to navigate a mysterious world of magic and mystery, political warfare, and passionate tension with the man who has sworn off women, who bears a striking resemblance to the paper towel Brawny Man. Hexes Go Well With Tequila will bring you on a whimsical journey of found family, and found self, uncovering a centuries-old mystery of ten lost souls and fighting for invisible women.

A nearly 40-year-old woman must embrace the magic of a mysterious Salem house and the unexpected friendships it brings to rebuild her life while navigating dangerous hexes and flirty feelings for the...

Cute, Cozy, whimsical, wild are all words I would use to describe this book. I honestly went in knowing next to nothing and it was a great a little break from everything else I normally read. I really loved how it just went for it with The whimsy and how our fmc is just like rolling with it as weird as some of those stuff that happens. I wasn't expecting the mystery aspect of this and it was a real fun. Overall a great book and the audio was just *chef's kiss*

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this audio arc.

Hexes Go Well With Tequila by LeAnna Ehrsam is a charming blend of magic, mystery, friendship, and self-discovery. Ursula Cambridge is an easy heroine to root for as she leaves behind a life where she feels invisible and starts over in the enchanting and quirky town of Salem. The Lost Souls House, complete with its mysterious graveyard and magical secrets, provides a wonderfully atmospheric backdrop that kept me invested from the very beginning.
One of the book’s greatest strengths is its focus on found family and female friendship. The bond that develops between Ursula and the other women in town adds warmth, humor, and heart to the story. The magical mishaps, hexes, and lingering mystery surrounding the lost souls create plenty of intrigue, while the slow-burn romantic tension with Salem’s gruff, cursed bachelor adds an enjoyable layer of romance.
At times, the pacing slows as the world-building and town politics take center stage, which is why this lands at four stars instead of five. However, the engaging characters, whimsical magic, and empowering message about rediscovering yourself make this a highly enjoyable read.
Fans of cozy paranormal romance, found-family stories, and magical small-town adventures will find a lot to love in this promising start to The Lost Souls Series.

Ok this is frothy and VERY on the nose with messaging, but I still had a great time reading this.

I love the focus on female friendship and community. I loved the protagonist being a woman almost 40. I loved her getting a chance to start over. Spoilery but I loved the just desserts being served. I'm not a huge fan of romance so that story line I can take or leave.

And I freaking loved the very ending.

I’m pretty sure a lot of women will relate to at least a couple aspects of this story line and enjoy the magically touch.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to listen in exchange for an honest review.

First I love a book with a woman in her 30s, felt right at home there. I love the magic and how the house molds to the person that's living in it.

I really loved this as an audiobook, there was much more to this book than I expected, there's love, politics, magic, found family, and obviously Hexes and Tequila.

magical house with a history and a woman in her late 30s finding her place and people to be herself with.

This was a cute story and a fun listen, with an interesting combination of light fluffy quick moving components, and parallels to issues felt deeply in today’s religious and political environment.

Hexes Go Well with Tequila by LeAnna Ehrsam

This was SO much fun! ✨

Ursula’s journey is heartwarming, empowering, and filled with love. I especially loved the relationships she builds with the other women. Their friendship, support, and genuine connection are truly something to aspire to.

Sign me up for any romance that includes a huge dog, witchy vibes, a hot grumpy man, and a small town that is definitely more than it seems. 🐕‍🦺🔮

There was also a bit of mystery woven throughout the story that kept me curious and wanting to see how everything would unfold. Such a fun read with magical, romantic, and cozy small town vibes!

I really loved this book. This story had everything, finding yourself, meeting friends who end up being your own found family, and finding your place that feels like home. I loved the audiobook narrator Patricia Santomasso. I felt all the feelings with this book, and I loved all the characters.

This book is for all women who were told they are the problem. The women who were told they were too much, too silly, too different, too anything. This book is for the women who were wronged by men who think that women are beneath them.

3.75 ⭐️ rounded up.

Hexes Go Well with Tequila was a really solid palate-cleanser read, and the narrator did a great job of making moments feel weighted when they needed to.

While the stakes never felt particularly high, the history never became too heavy, and the romance never made me overly anxious, the story still held my interest really well. Sometimes you don’t want a book that has you feeling every possible emotion, you just want to read (or listen to) a good story being told. Following a character through some of the more mundane pieces of everyday life can be difficult to execute without losing the reader, but I think it’s done pretty well here.

With that in mind, not every aspect landed quite the way I had hoped. While we get some grumpy MMC action, the relationship between Ursula and Jensen felt just a pinch too much like insta-love for my personal taste. They do spend time getting to know one another, but they also spend quite a bit of the story at odds, so I wanted a little more development before some of the romantic feelings settled in.

Where the book really worked for me was in its characters and overall cozy, supportive atmosphere. The girls-supporting-girls energy, Ursula finding her footing, and especially the house she moves into were all elements I really enjoyed. There’s something comforting about the story even when things get a little supernatural.

The audiobook was also a great way to experience this one. The narration complemented the lower-stakes feel while still giving the more emotional moments the weight they deserved.

Overall, Hexes Go Well with Tequila is one I’d recommend when you want something lighter, witchy, and easy to settle into, especially as a palate cleanser between heavier reads.

Thank you to Hay House Audiobooks and NetGalley for the gifted audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

From the moment Ursula Cambridge, a 38-year-old woman from the Midwest, realizes she's become invisible in her life and relationship, she and her Irish Wolfhound, Casper get a magical invitation to live in The Lost Souls House in Salem, Massachusetts.

This book is amazing, as a women in her 30s it was lovely to read a book where the character was closer to my age as well as going through things that I have. I think the way that female friendships are described in this book is so true, focusing on building a ‘Coven’ of like minded women and what that looks like was so wholesome. This has a lot of intrigue, mystery and a touch of spice. For anyone that wants nice witchy/cozy and wholesome book to read to get into the spooky season this is definitely one to add to the TBR.

The narrator was amazing, she really was able to capture the story through the way that she told this and really kept the magic going as well as the whimsy, I would definitely read something that she narrates again!

This was the story of a mid-30s woman who steps away from the life she is not happy in to pursue something new and different. It was a low-stakes and cozy book, so keep that in mind when you’re deciding if this one is for you. I really enjoyed the friendships, little details about the house, and overall comfort vibes this book gave.

Hexes Go Well with Tequila was such a fun, witchy read with the perfect amount of fall atmosphere! 🍂🔮

Ursula Cambridge leaves the Midwest and moves to Salem, Massachusetts with her Irish Wolfhound, Casper. She settles into the mysterious Lost Souls House, where she quickly discovers that part of her new life involves walking the graveyard nearby and caring for the lost souls connected to the house.

What I really loved was watching Ursula find her place in the community. She starts a dinner club that brings a group of women together, and things get especially entertaining when margaritas are involved. After getting a little tipsy, the women head into the graveyard to hex people who have wronged them, and when they discover the hexes actually worked, things get even more chaotic!

Ursula also develops a romance with Jensen, whom she adorably nicknames the “Brawny Man.” Their relationship added a fun romantic element to the story, while the strange witchy happenings around Ursula’s house and throughout Salem kept the mystery and magic moving.

There’s also some tension surrounding the upcoming mayoral election, which adds another layer to all the supernatural happenings.

Overall, this was a cozy, quirky, witchy read filled with friendship, margaritas, romance, ghosts, and just enough mayhem. It gave me major fall vibes and would be such a fun book to pick up when you want something light, magical, and entertaining

Hexes Go Well with Tequila — LeAnna Ehrsam 🔮🍹🖤

This book was SO much fun. It had all the cozy witchy vibes I wanted, but underneath the magic and humor was a story about starting over and finally figuring out who you are when you've spent way too long feeling invisible.

I absolutely loved Ursula. Having a 38-year-old FMC was honestly so refreshing, and watching her leave behind the life that wasn't making her happy and slowly come into her own was one of my favorite parts of the book. And obviously Casper deserves his own mention because I will automatically love any book that gives me a giant dog sidekick. 😂

The Lost Souls House was probably my favorite part though. A mysterious magical house in Salem WITH a graveyard full of lost souls?! Say less. I loved uncovering the history behind the house and the ten lost souls, and the whole setting gave me the perfect spooky-cozy atmosphere.

But what really made this one for me was the female friendships. Ursula finding this group of women who immediately surround her with friendship, support, tequila, and apparently some accidentally successful hexes was everything. 😂 There's such a strong found-family/sisterhood element throughout the story.

Then we have the grumpy, supposedly cursed town bachelor 👀 and his niece Bess. I loved Ursula's relationship with Bess just as much as I enjoyed the romance. The romantic tension was definitely there, but it didn't completely take over Ursula's story, which I really appreciated.

It's witchy, funny, mysterious, romantic, a little spicy, and full of women finding their power again. Basically, give me a magical Salem house, female rage, margaritas, found family, ghosts, and a grumpy man and I'm happy. 😂

Definitely excited to continue The Lost Souls Series! 🔮🖤

Goddess.
Where do I begin?
There aren’t words to describe just how amazing this book is.

It’s emotional and healing and deep and raw and unbelievably beautiful.

Not only is this novel a cozy and lovely story about connection and community and hope, but it’s a love letter to women. There’s so many lessons in this book that I wish I had learned at a younger age - but it’s never too late to learn and grow and heal.

LeAnna Ehrsam is an incredible writer as well. Her prose is stunningly elegant and absolutely profound. The way she weaves words is truly magical.

Full disclosure: this is not my first read through of this book. I have a physical copy and the ebook. Even through a reread, it still managed to take my breath away!

Massive thank you to LeAnna Ehrsam, NetGalley, and Hay House for this advanced listener copy.

I have had this on my shelf and saw the audiobook on NetGalley and thought it was a great time to try this one. It was such a fun vibes read.
I absolutely adored the friendship elements and centering women. I couldn’t help but think “I want that”or “yes! That’s exactly it!” When talking about the different elements of sisterhood and women seeing, caring and showing up for each other with actual care and desire to repair in the event something went wrong. Such a fun read and it’s just in time for spooky season!

Thank you to NetGalley and Hay House Audiobooks for the audiobook ARC of Hexes Go Well with Tequila in exchange for my honest review!

This was such a fun, cozy listen. The story has a light, playful feel, the characters are easy to enjoy, and the whole thing has that warm, slightly chaotic magical vibe that makes it very easy to keep listening.

The audio performance was really well done, and honestly, I think this may work even better as an audiobook than it would as a traditional read. There are quite a few long, run-on sentences in the writing, but the narrator handles them in a way that makes them feel natural and conversational rather than clunky. I can see those same passages feeling a little more noticeable on the page.

The romance does move very quickly, but in this case that felt intentional and part of the charm rather than a flaw. It fits the tone of the story and the kind of whirlwind, magical experience the book is going for.

Overall, this was a really enjoyable, cozy, low-stress read with a great audio performance and a fun story. Definitely one I’d recommend in audiobook format.

I love a living house. This was a fun romance with a great mystery and political warfare situation. Ursula was so relatable as a character. I love seeing "older" female protagonists in books, not every story needs a 20-something FMC. Her willingness to just kind of go with the flow really released her from her past in a way. And don't get me started on Mr. Brawny man... Something about a man being aggressively protective of you just really does it for me. He's such a great uncle to Bess and love that he really nurtured her relationship with Ursula when he saw how much they both needed that connection. Swoon. As for the wannabe mayor, he really came through with that "History always repeats itself" line. Just as terrible as all his ancestors. The misogyny and conservative energy there was palpable, but I'm so glad they were able to have the truth come to light. All in all a fun cozy romance that left me dying to know what was next to come. I thought the narrators were fantastic. They really captured such a wide spectrum of emotions across this storyline. Would love to see more duets with them.

I was prepared for a bit of lighthearted, Alice Hoffman-esque magical realism (think Practical Magic) and I wasn't disappointed. There is definitely a lot of magic in this book, both the romantic type and the Hogwarts type. Although it is categorized as a romance, it also had some poignant and honest moments about female friendships and the difficulty of connecting to people in a new place, once you leave school. The romance theme is part of the haters-to-lovers sub-genre and seemed a less important theme than that of friendship. Yes, magic plays a big part in how they become friends, but the political and social cliques of small towns also play a part in how people become friends.
Ursula receives a magical invitation just as she is realizing how unfulfilling and small her life is. She packs up and moves to Salem, MA, with her dog, without informing her unnamed partner of ten years, wondering if he would even notice. Once ensconced in the house, magical messages appear and the house starts to represent her personality, which had been beiged-out in her previous life in Ohio.
Read-alikes include We Ride Upon Sticks and Practical Magic.

As a woman in her 40s I really appreciated a book where the FMC isnt a 18-22 year old coming into her magic but a woman coming into her own as she remakes her life. The story was fun, easy to listen to (I did an immersive read with the ALC audiobook from NetGalley) and the characters were relatable. I cannot wait to read/listen to the rest of the series!

Thank you to NetGalley and Hay House, LLC for the ALC of Hexes Go Well With Tequila in exchange for my honest review!

What a fun book! When Ursula realizes that she no longer fits into her current life (did she ever?), she gets a mysterious and magical letter inviting her to live in The Lost Souls House in Salem, Massachusetts. So she, and her Irish Wolfhouse, Casper, decide to give it a go.

There, she learns where she fits, the value of friendships, and maybe a few…..hexes.

The humor in this book was great. The found family was awesome. The romance was not my favorite at first, but it grew on me.

This is the first in a series and I will definitely be reading the next one when it comes out.

The narrator was Patricia Santomasso and she was amazing. I wish she would narrate a lot more of the books I listen to instead of some others who shall not be named.

This was a fun, cozy fantasy about a “haunted” house in Salem, Massachusetts. Ursula moves into the house after a strange listing for a woman who is in desperate need of a life change crosses her path. She befriends a group of women and runs into the surly local handy/construction man.

I had a lot of fun listening to the audiobook! I enjoyed that real topics were discussed. The plight of women was honed in on more than a few times. Honestly, if the reader doesn’t come away from this without a new realization of the realities and hardships of women, they genuinely weren’t paying attention.

Jenson and Ursula’s chemistry was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed their banter and the fact that she wasn’t phased by him like so many women before. I wish the author would’ve delved into his past with more than just a few pages. He had an interesting story. Same with Rob and Miles. I think there was a lot of time spent with the women, and I could’ve used more plot development in the way of the immoral men.

Overall, this was really cute, I liked the setting. I loved the house! The characters were a bit so so, a lot of them didn’t have enough substance to hold the story up. I also liked the vibes of female friendship and connection, but I feel like the author portrayed it in such a way that it felt surface level overall and a little preachy sometimes?

I know it is easier to write your characters nonchalant, to have them just accept the things that are happening around them. It is more fun than explaining their inner feelings and the fear magical things can cause, but I don’t care how chill you are, if you go to bed thinking about something and then you wake up and it is present in your home, who’s gonna take that at face value? I believe in the magic of the world, and I would be like who the heck is breaking into my house? Who’s watching me? What is going on? It would have been beneficial to this story if the author had dug a little deeper into the lore of the house instead of just making her be like “what?! Oh well!”

📚 "Hexes Go Well with Tequila" (The Lost Souls Series, Book 1)
✍️ LeAnna Ehrsam
🎧 Narrated by Patricia Santomasso
🎧 ALC provided by NetGalley
📅 Release Date: October 13
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s just my humble opinion, but Patricia Santomasso can do absolutely no wrong as a narrator. This witchy vibe was perfection for her tone and voice. Five-star narration without a doubt.

As a book focused on sisterhood with a little romance mixed in, I absolutely loved this one. I wanted more pizza parties, cemetery walks, margarita nights, and general witchy girl-group shenanigans. Fortunately, it looks like this may be the beginning of a series, and I am absolutely here for that.

The book is labeled as a romance, but I honestly felt like the sisterhood and found family were the real love story. The M/F romance was definitely there and was a nice addition, but it wasn’t what made the book for me.

There were two open-door spice scenes that you can easily skip if that isn’t your thing. They didn’t add much to the relationship development, outside of establishing that the Brawny Man apparently has quite the mouth on him. 😂

When Ursula and her dog move to Salem and into the Lost Souls house under some questionable persuasion, she quickly discovers that nothing about the house is quite what it seems. She’ll also likely never want for anything again. The material things she desires, like patio furniture and a garden, have a habit of simply appearing. Her longing for deeper relationships is fulfilled pretty quickly too, although I’m still not convinced we can give the house credit for that one.

Soon, the women gathering at Lost Souls realize they have the power to make sh*t happen. Literally. Including adding tails to bullies.

They agree to use their newfound abilities sparingly, and only when everyone is on board, but when the town finds itself facing a mayoral election that could use a little magical intervention, the witches might have to get involved.

I am such a sucker for found family and sisterhood-centered books, and this one scratched that itch perfectly. It reminded me of other witchy reads I’ve really enjoyed, including "The First Witches Club."

Give me a magical house, a group of women finding their people, questionable uses of witchcraft, margaritas, and a little chaos, and apparently I’m happy. 🍕🍹🔮

This book is in my top 5 for the year so far.. I absolutely LOVED it. I think every woman can relate to Ursula and how she felt unseen in a relationship. I personally felt that the book gave practical magic vibes which made me love it more. I adored the female friendships were the main focus of the book and the romance was kind of on a back burner. The descriptions of Salem and the activities were great. I loved learning about the graveyard the people who came before Ursula at Lost Souls House. This was a five-star read for me. I can't wait to continue on with the series. I feel like this would make a great movie or tv show.

Not often you read a cute and cozy witchy book with so many serious messages underlying the surface!
This was well done, plenty of cute moments, cozy feels, and sweet friendships as we go along Ursula's journey.
The book has plenty of fall vibes, a little bit of spooky with the Lost Souls House, but not too much.
The romance sub plot, could have been eliminated. It was awkward, felt forced. And the spice was cringey.
The audiobook itself, very well done. Really enjoyed the narrator, the pacing was good, the voice acting was well done.
3.5 stars for the book
4 stars for the audio performance.

Ursula finds herself in an unsual situation when she decides to leave her boyfriend and star a new life, she finds a peculiar listing for a house that was calling her name (literally)
The house is the best I wish I had one like that in real life.
And she moves to Salem, and weird things start to happened , she also makes friends that navigate this new life with her.
A story of sisterhood ,magic and mystery develops.
It has a Halloween / Fall vibe , perfect to read or listen under a warm blanket and a hot beverage

I loved this book so much! It was fun and sweet, feminist and interesting. I would have read it even without the romance subplot, but I am a sucker for a good romance! I listened to this book on audiobook.
Story: Ursula is a whimsical 38 year old with baggage. She leaves her partner of ten years who has stopped seeing her and moves impromptu ally to Salem where she meets the locals, becomes famous (because she's living in a haunted house) and gets in to all sorts of wild trouble only the best friendships could help you through. This story is centred around the women she meets and learns to open up to, after a decade of forgetting who she is. It's heart-warming, charming and romantic novel about women and the strength they can give one another when they trust each other.
Narration: Patricia Santomasso was a beautiful narrator with a lovely, easy to listen to voice. Perfect for this comfortable little tale.
Can't wait for book 2!

The Review
Hexes Go Well With Tequila (The Lost Souls Series, Book 1) by Leanna Ehrsam is pure magical perfection! Returning to this setting felt like coming home. The heart of this story lies in its empowering feminine community and incredible found family dynamics—the bonds between these women are hilarious, deeply supportive, and so beautifully written.
And then we have our hero! Our handsome Salem town bachelor—who happens to be allegedly cursed—is top-tier MMC material. The chemistry, cozy witchy antics, and witty banter make this such an addictive re-read. Whether you are picking it up for the first time or returning for a re-read like me, this story completely enchants you from start to finish!

There’s something special about a book that connects to your current stage of life, along with your love of all things witchy, and pulls at your romantic heart - this is our time, fellow Peri/Meno Ladies. Hexes Go Well With Tequila by LeAnna Ehrsam is the perfect mix of October vibes, a Salem-inspired mystery, and feminine energy. Friendship, an enemies-to-lovers trope, warm descriptions of all the Autumn baked goods, and a good bit of karma tossed right at the patriarchy. This book hits all the *tinkling* spots. Cheers to this five-star read (first in the Lost Souls series!) and female power.

The narrator of the audiobook, Patricia Santomasso, whose voice I listened to as I read in tandem with the eBook, did an excellent job of distinguishing among the many characters while conveying both emotional connections and feminine rage.

I loved every minute of Ursula’s journey, and I cannot wait to dive into the next two books in the series. Thank you, NetGalley and Hay House, for the opportunity to experience this eBook and audiobook and share my opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for access to this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Hexes Go Well with Tequila follows Ursula, a 38-year-old woman who receives a mysterious invitation to move into Salem’s Lost Souls House with her Irish Wolfhound, Casper. What starts as a fresh start quickly turns into a cozy paranormal mystery filled with witches, hidden histories, a town full of secrets, a suspiciously grumpy love interest, and a group of women who become an unexpectedly wonderful found family.

The narrator was fantastic and made this such an easy, entertaining listen. I really loved the camaraderie between the women and the whole cozy, magical Salem vibe. It was also way spicier than I expected, which was a very fun surprise. Between the mystery, the friendships, the romance, and all the secrets tucked into this town, I had such a good time with it. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book.

This was a lovely witchy book without there being no witches!

I loved Ursula’s character, she was so kind and open to all the new things coming her way. And how she opened her home for the teenager that needed her.

One of the things I liked most about this book was that the romance wasn’t the center of attention for once. There was absolutely tension between Ursula and Jensen, and it gave it the perfect touch. The main focus though lay between the friendships and the quirky witchy magic running around in Salem, and the mystery around the Lost souls house.

Got the audiobook for review on Netgally.

I had a lot of fun with the book, enjoyed the close knit friendship and female support, a big adorable dog and a surprisingly spicy romance. It read a lot like a cozy mystery so didn't expect it to have spice scenes but it was a fun suprise. Its as much about social issues, like feminism as it is about friendship and romance. Enjoyed it enough that I want to read the next book

Book: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Narrator: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was halfway through chapter one of the audio book when I immediately decided I needed a physical copy of this book. Think Golden Girls but in Salem. The number of times I laughed out loud at the perimenopausal woman's snark and just overall feelings can be hard to explain to someone who is not in her mid 40s and wondering, where the hell her life went (although the FMM is 36 I believe).

Some of the reviews of this book are probably justified if you have never been a woman who has been denied a promotion that was given to someone who is half as good at the job as you are, or if you are a white male, or or or basically just fill in the blank here. There's a lot of talk about womanhood and loving other women without it really being overbearing (or at least thats what I thought while listening to the book). It's the type of stuff that we tell our granddaughters that we wish we had told our daughters--- That it's okay to be a kick ass and also be vulnerable to your fellow girl friends.

But, and most importantly, tequila really is the best drink when hexing somebody with a lion's tail.

Thank you #netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book. #HexesGoWellwithTequilaTheLostSoulsSeriesBook1

loved this> Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to listen to this ALC. A women in her late 30s gets a mysterious letter from "The Lost Souls House" She goes to Salem Mass. to this magical house a signs a contract. Her contracts states she must take care of the hours and roam the burial grounds at least 4 nights a week? This book just is about a magical house in Salem. Ursula realizes she was invisible in her life. This book is about Ursula taking her life back about relationships and how important they are. It about how we treat ourselves. I gave this a 🎃🎃🎃🎃.5/5

I adored this book! It was the perfect story to kick off fall reading. The characters were enjoyable, the plot kept me engaged, and I loved watching the downfall of terrible men haha. Finding community and friendship in a new town or older in life can be challenging and I think this book shows that struggle well. There were many times that the story line felt very relatable. (sometimes too relatable).

My only big gripe was the sex scene. It felt so out of place and the dialog didn't seem like it matched the characters. I almost felt it was add in just to say there was smut in the book.

I will absolutely be continuing with this series.

The title alone had me because apparently hexes DO go well with tequila, and I needed to know why. 😂 This was such a fun start to The Lost Souls Series. I loved the combination of supernatural chaos, humor, mystery, and characters who very clearly have more going on than they initially let on.

The story was easy to get completely wrapped up in, and I especially enjoyed the magical elements and the slightly chaotic energy running through everything. It never felt like the paranormal side took itself too seriously, but there was still enough mystery and emotion underneath it to keep me invested.

Patricia Santomasso did a fantastic job with the narration. She gave the characters distinct personalities and really nailed the humor and supernatural craziness. This was such an easy audiobook to binge, and I'm definitely curious about where the series goes next.

When I saw the title of this book, I was so excited for my favorite fall reads, a cute little romance with some magic and obviously a fun beverage! I started listening and learned quickly that this was so much more! First I love a FMC that is actually my age and I can truly connect with what she is feeling, her struggles of finding herself and finding happiness in her life was so relatable. Then we head to Salem where she finds the perfect friend group that lifts her up and create real bonds that even can be heartbreaking at times. The depth of every single character in this book was so amazing and made me feel for them so much.

After all of that we meet a wonderful however cursed grumpy man that is a tough shell, but cares so deeply for all of the people in his life.

I loved every second of this book and am so happy that the others in this series are already out so I can jump right into them!

Thank you Netgalley and LeAnna Ehrsam for the Audio ARC. My thoughts and review are my own and have not been biased by the fact.

This was the perfect book to kick off the cozy season! I thoroughly enjoyed the found-family, small-town vibes, and the romance between the characters. This is one of those stories that makes you want to curl up with a warm drink and a soft blanket. As far as audiobooks go, our narrator was great - the story moved smoothly with her narration, and her voice helped create a lot of the ambiance of the story. This is my first time reading LeAnna Ehrsam, and I am excited to pick up and read the rest of the series!
