Description

She Made Him Want Things He Thought He Could Never Have.

Andras Aguilar wants nothing more than to live a solitary life on his horse farm in New Mexico and forget his painful past. He’d managed to shrug off the small town whispers and gossip about his involvement years ago in the murder of a young woman. That is until his chance encounter with a beautiful stranger. Now, he desperately wants Doctor Harper King to believe in him even if he can’t believe in himself.

They Warned Her He Was A Dangerous Man.

Some of the people in Angel Falls told Harper that Andras Aguilar was a murderer and to turn him away. Harper is terrified of the sensual man asking her for help, but not because of his reputation or what the town believes. It's because of her own weakness to the passionate feelings she has whenever he is near. When the killer strikes again and another woman dies, Harper knows Andras is innocent, but will her love and faith be enough to save him?

She Made Him Want Things He Thought He Could Never Have.

Dr. Harper King has moved to Angel Falls to recover from an accident that killed her husband. Working at the town clinic gives her a purpose and a chance to heal. Andras Aguilar was once accused of murdering a young woman, but he was innocent. He avoids his mother who has never shown any love for him and keeps to himself on the ranch that the “grandmother of his heart” left him when she passed away. He has had “episodes” all of his life that leave him unsure of what has happened. After being injured, he seeks treatment at the clinic and meets Harper King and learns that there may be a medical reason for his episodes. When a woman is found murdered on his property, he is once again accused. A twisted tale of deceit and greed with a shocking revelation. I loved the way that Harper helped and defended Andras. Angel Falls is a wonderful series with characters that tug at your heart. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Awesome story! Nice paced, interesting, intriguing and keeps the reader engaged. I didn’t felt it complicated at all, more than an easy to read story that kept me entertained and trying to figure the motives behind the characters. Looking forward to the next story!

Dark Moments by Charlene Tess & Judi Thompson
Angel Falls Series #4

I love reading the work of new authors and this book was a treat. I came in on book four of the series but had no trouble reading and enjoying the story I was presented with. Now, knowing there are previous books and having met a few of the characters that starred in those books I am intrigued, curious and hope to find those books to read in the future.

What I liked:
* Harper: intelligent, skilled, filled with sorrow, professional, physician, widow, and more. I really liked her as her character blossomed.
* Andras: smart, horse whisperer, misunderstood, carrying a heavy load, kind, caring, loving, warm and easy to love. I loved his story and how he overcame so much.
* The writing, plot and story
* Bobby Joe: young, lonely, eager to please – a great young boy that finally fell in clover
* The horses and dog
* The supporting characters
* Wondering if Rafe will get a story of his own
* Hoping to see how Andras and Harper are in the future if there is a fifth book in the series
* That this book was able to be read as a standalone story
* The location of the story
* That the murderer was found and would be dealt with

What I did not like:
* The murderer – evil in spades deserving all that justice can serve up
* Having to say goodbye to people that felt like friends by the end of the story

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series/by these authors? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the ARC – This is my honest review.

4-5 Stars

Dark Moments is one of those rare books that is so well written, with an absorbing plot and perfectly designed characters that it is almost impossible to stop reading it and make the reader want to read more books by the same author or in this case, authors.
I want to clarify that in general, I read few novels of the romantic genre. However, in this case I am waiting for the authors to write more books in the Angel Falls series!
Five well-deserved stars for a book that I especially recommend to those readers who like a clean romance with a good touch of suspense.

An enjoyable read, this book had a bit of romance and a bit of mystery. I really liked the leading couple, Andras and Heidi. Heidi is a newcomer to the small town and Andras is a man with a past. The actual romance is very understated but I liked that it started with a foundation of respect and actual friendship. I enjoyed the way the writer described the scenes but I felt like a bit was missing- the story was a bit slow and plodding, though overall, well written. I feel like there were probably books before this in the series (There were in-depth descriptions of a specific supporting couple in the story) but I felt like this was totally standalone. Thanks to NetGalley for the read!

An excellent story I truly enjoyed. 2 damaged adults meet in small town full of gossips. Dr. King, a surgeon, is recovering from nerve damage. She takes a general practice position while her arm and heart heals. She meets the town bad boy that has been treated poorly for years. This is their story and the story of 2 murders in the town. Surprise ending! I always enjoy a good twist. I thought the story was interesting with good characters...well done!

Harper King is the new doctor in a small town in New Mexico. She was a surgeon, but a car accident, in which her husband was killed, also left her with an injured hand. Her days of not being able to operate are temporary .. she hopes.

Andras Aguilar is a man who mostly keeps to himself. He's known as a horse whisperer and his horse farm keeps him busy. Some of the residents have mentioned to the new doctor that he has a criminal past and is believed to have killed his brother, as well as his brother's girlfriend. He was never charged and the case remains open.

Andras is forced to see the doctor in a professional way when he had a 'spell' and injured himself when he fell. He then tells the doctor what he's been told since he was a child .. a medical condition which no one except family knows.

Harper is drawn to the man and wants only to help him. She doesn't believe for a moment that this man who has such a gifted talent with horses could ever hurt someone, much less kill them. Andras sees something in her that makes his want all the things he thought he could never have.

And when another young woman is found murdered on his property, it's a nightmare, take 2. Hiring a private investigator brings to light something that threatens a killer. And Harper is the prime target.

With a well-plotted story line and solidly drawn characters, the author has blended mystery, suspense, and romance into one action filled page turner. It's nicely paced, with a good look at the sometimes quirky residents. I enjoyed the burgeoning relationship between Harper and Andras, the romance itself is quiet and understated. Although 4th in the series, this can easily be read as a stand alone. No cliff hangers here.

Many thanks to the authors / BooksGoSocial / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Romantic Suspense. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Sorry I did not get to read this one due to taking a college course. I will look out for the title as it seems like one I would enjoy.

The small town context presents intrigue in itself, only to be made more complicated by a raft of characters who all have their own axe to grind, The romance angle worked well, which is often a challenge in the context of a mystery, and the author is to be commended for not making it seem like a cringe worthy add on.
