Advance Praise

"A very informative book that would guide us towards an ultimate success.

"The Happiness Journal" by Viet Hung is definitely the most reliable source of warding off all the burdens of a depressed and worried mind. It acts like a tranquilizer and heals the mind more than a prescribed dose of a tranquilizer might ever do.

The book in itself is a well-established rehabilitation center, it shows us the way towards a life full of all the meanings that we wouldn't be able to explore otherwise."

How frustrating is it to be told by all the different sources the things you must do to be successful in life? This book definitely does NOT do that. It instead takes an empathetic approach and gives bite size approaches and allows you to have kindness and patience with yourself when dealing with life. This is so necessary for everyone to read in life. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The Happiness Journal by Viet Hung gives the reader permission to own their feelings without judgement. It inspires you to look for ways to find joy and peace with great empathy.

This book is organized in three parts with thoughtful subtopics. You are invited to learn more about sensing happiness, your happiness in the workplace, and seeking your own truthful happiness.

Honestly, it is best to read this book slowly in order to reflect on making meaningful change. The examples provided are relatable and easy to understand.

They are loosely related to each other under the three main headings, but since it is from blog posts no transitions between stories are provided which makes it a little disjointed. However, that is only a minor issue and overall the material is so relevant I soon was able to overlook this issue.

The author has studied this topic and has compiled blog posts since 2009 to help create this outstanding book. His goal is to inspire all to have a "positive, well-rounded, peaceful, meaningful, fulfilled, energetic, and intense life."

By sharing this outstanding information with the readers I think this goal was achieved. Obviously, it isn't enough to read a book and then put it aside. I found as I put the steps into action I did find more happiness as I learned to cultivate and nurture positive thoughts everyday.

I was provided a free advance reader copy from Books Go Social in exchange for my honest review on Net Galley. The opinions shared in this review are my own.

This book was received as an ARC from BooksGoSocial in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review.

I have read so many happiness self help books that I basically know what they are going to say for some of the topics of discussion. However, to me that just means that it is another confirmation that I am going to the right books to motivate me more down this road. I am familiar with Viet Hung's group and the message he spreads all over the world that we have the power to choose our thoughts and actions and if we want more happiness, we have to spread it to others in order to give it to ourselves. Our community will appreciate this book and hopefully find meaning and start their journey too.

We will consider adding this title to our Self Help collection in our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Normally I wouldn't read a book such as this but with all the craziness going on in the world right now the title and smiley face on the cover caught my eye. I am so glad that I did as this book really gives great insight into figuring out what is important in life and how to live with purpose and be happy. Such a good read and makes you feel good when you finish!

THE HAPPINESS JOURNAL reminds me of popular books with daily meditations for recovering people. A few minutes pondering a simple story sets the tone for the whole day. The book compiles posts from the author’s blog, and guides us to be more mindful, grateful, and thoughtful about life choices. Uniquely, it includes QR codes throughout. When scanned, they provide guided meditations, writing prompts and other helpful exercises. Inspiring!

One of the things that I made a resolution for this year was to find some happiness within me. I’ve been lost since having kids, and the stress from 2020 really showed me how much I had strayed from my dreams. Like a beacon of light, this book came across my Kindle and was a great starting point.

The first book I read was The Happiness Journal by Viet Hung. This book is that common sense kick in the pants everyone needs to be reminded of. The reminders are told in small snippets that can be read with “sips of coffee.” The inspirational reminders seemed silly when I was reading them, until I took a step back and realized I was doing some pretty negative thinking throughout 2020, and acting in not such a happy fashion thereby ruining relationships around me. Every now and then, everyone can use a reminder, and that’s what this book is.

Want to try to find some happiness within you but don’t know where to begin? Give this book a try!

The Happiness Journal is like reading someone else’s journal, in a way. The author shares her own stories and lessons on happiness and positive thinking. Interesting, with a lot of great insight.

One of the best positivity books I have ever ran across. The stories are simple to both understand and relate to in some way. The author did an excellent job keeping it simple. I pleasure to read.

This was great! I’m always skeptical of self help books but I would this one to be guided and engaging.

This was blog posts which I enjoyed. It was fun and empowering going to read everyday. There is so much that can happen during the day to demotivate you, to bring you down and just reading reminders and relearning about how awesome you are can really lift you up.

The Happiness Journal is a must read. It does not "give: you happiness, but rather makes you understand what happiness is. There are also so many interesting little tidbits that help the reader make sense of the state of mind they are in and encourage them to become happier in their life.
Definitely one of those book that should be available in all bookshelves and libraries.

Thoughtful, practical, inspiring book. One that you can dip in and out of multiple times and always find another nugget, or strategy that you can use in everyday life.
Whilst the book is called The Happiness Journal, it works for everyone, not just those who are seeking happiness.
Would recommend.
