Such a good mystery read!
This is the story of a young boy Benjamin who’s being bullied at school. He stands up to it but he has to face the unwanted consequences until an unexpected adult intervenes.
When he’s given an assignment to write a report on an issue that’s important for his community, he chooses to write on missing children which has been a big issue for the past sixty five years as children went missing with no clues.
With his two friends, he carries on with this task as seriously as he can and then they come to know where and how it all began.
Written with thrill and charm, this young mystery fiction provides such an interesting reading experience with clues to solve. It also shows how important it is for a community to support its people.
The twist is shocking. I had such a good time reading this book! The characters are wholesome and so well developed. My favourites would be the mother and the rabbi.
Thank you, BookBaby, for the advance reading copy.
Trigger warnings for bullying, community sensitive comments.

An engaging mystery for middle graders. It takes place in the present but includes the historical past of Nazi Germany and the Holocaust.
Benjamin Weiss has a traditional Jewish background and the story is told from that perspective, including preparations for his Bar Mitzvah. His two best friends and an elderly Rabbi join him in trying to figure out the mystery of how and why, every three or four years, a preteen child from their community has disappeared. What they discover about the missing children is unexpected and their response even more so. Trigger warning: bullying and anti-Semitism.

What a great way to introduce Jewish culture to teens and tweens! In this mystery, Benjamin is facing down bullies at his school, navigating the awkward years alongside his friends, and discovering that he might be destined for a greatness he could never have imagined. The story weaves together fact and fiction, history and mystery, in a way that keeps the reader hanging on until the twist at the end. One of my favorite parts was discovering that Benjamin might have more adventures awaiting him in the future, too!
