Description

Please note: This is an original audio program and not structured as an ebook.

Unlock the gifts and medicine of storytelling as a tool for healing yourself, your community, and the planet.

Do you carry a story inside you—one that stirs beneath the surface, whispering to be told? Are you a story catcher, inspired to gather and tell the stories of this time? Or perhaps you are a story carrier—one who tends to and keeps old stories alive so they may breathe among us once more. If so, you already know that storytelling is more than just words. It’s a vessel for profound alchemy and transformation.

With Sacred Storytelling, you’ll be taken on an immersive journey with master storyteller Leah Lamb into the art of conscious storytelling as a living, ancient practice. Here, you’ll be invited to step into the role of storyteller—not just as a creator but as a caretaker of wisdom and culture—where you’ll learn how to tell stories that open hearts, heal the world, and ignite change. Each session unfolds like a living tapestry, interwoven with guided meditations, memorable anecdotes, and meaningful reflections from Lamb herself. As you listen, you’ll discover:

  • The secret to courting your own muse and sparking a deluge of creativity
  • How to overcome writer’s block so you can move forward with purpose and confidence
  • Powerful techniques to awaken your authentic voice as a storyteller
  • Four principles that distinguish a sacred story from a “zombie story”
  • Modalities and tools for working with myth, archetype, and symbols
  • Real examples of story used as a healing practice in community and ceremonial spaces

“Each of us has the capacity to reach into the unseen world of the imaginable plane,” says Leah Lamb, “to shape thoughts through word and resonance and place them into the vehicle of storytelling.” Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned speaker, what you’ll unearth will deepen your connection with your craft and amplify the impact of your message.

If you have ever been interested in writing, poetry, journaling etc in any way I’d recommend this or even if you’re looking to open a creative side of yourself or assist anyone else maybe in your job or life this was really quite interesting.

It’s not too long and the narration is done beautifully also well written with explanations of everything so for things I was maybe about to question Leah then went on to explain!

The way in which she expressed writing in so many different ways and various forms of viewpoints, uses, interpretations and even from someone simply using writing on a personal level to a professional writer was fantastic. She really covered a lot in a relatively short period! Added into the mix is also a little meditation as well as explanations of mythical, elemental areas to explore in writing styles.

For a professional writer it may be one that would be good to have a hard copy for reference however she has a beautiful voice I’d recommend listening to the audiobook also!

With thanks to NetGalley & Sounds True Audiobooks for the opportunity to listen to this ELC it is greatly appreciated! 🎧📚🙏🏽❤️

A beautiful heartfelt book. So many pearls of wisdom and so much more than just storytelling. Many times throughout, it made me stop and really think about some of the questions that Leah posed in turn coming up with some clarifying thoughts
It’s cold, cold winter here in Australia and it was a really lovely heartwarming book that I listened to while I worked away in my cozy jewellery studio, Leah’s voice was very calming and easy to listen to

Yes!! This book is so so needed right now!! In a world where we are being told creativity and story does not need human love heart and involvement, a book that clearly shows the passion and explains the IMPORTANCE of humanity within stories is soooo special to me. I’ll definitely be recommending this online in many places. I’ll post on goodreads, Amazon, insta, and lemon&

This author had so much to share and I truly loved hearing her personal stories and perspectives. There was helpful and tangible advice for aspiring storytellers as well, which was very much appreciated!

Listening to Sacred Storytelling felt less like consuming a typical audiobook and more like being gently guided through an intimate, transformative workshop. Leah Lamb’s approach is immersive from the very beginning; starting with a mindful grounding exercise that set a tone of presence and connection. One particularly striking moment was when she encouraged listeners to reimagine their physical surroundings, inviting us to see the floor beneath us return to its natural state: wood becoming tree, metal becoming mineral. This single shift in perspective led me into a vivid meditation that opened me up to receiving her wisdom on a spiritual level.

It quickly became clear that I’d want to take notes throughout, as Lamb’s insights began to unfold. While not every idea fully resonated with me, those that did landed with deep impact, especially in relation to my creative work. Her teachings offered practical and profound guidance for my writing practice, and I also found unexpected parallels to my work as a tarot reader. The storytelling techniques she shares, rooted in ancient traditions, allowed me to consider new ways of building meaningful, narrative connections with clients.

What truly stood out was Lamb’s lyrical, rhythmic style of delivery. Her voice carries both wisdom and ease, making the listening experience not only educational but deeply soothing. She speaks with a natural, conversational tone that feels personal and approachable. I especially appreciated her willingness to be vulnerable through sharing her own stories.

Sacred Storytelling is more than an audiobook, it’s a soulful invitation to remember the power of narrative and its potential to heal, connect, and transform.

Thank you to Sounds True Audiobooks and NetGalley for this ARC to read and review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A storytelling workshop with meditations, creative exercises, and deeply compassionate lectures. One of my core beliefs is that we can only tell the truth through story. This workshop is tailor-made for me. I look forward to revisiting it in the future. There is something special about being in a space with others, experiencing a workshop in person. But, for me, I am often distracted by my own need to make sure everyone else is okay. I actually like this about myself, that I am always seeing who might be lonely or uncomfortable or having big feelings. However, it does distract from having my own experience. For this reason, these Sounds True programs have been personally helpful. I think I've listened to all of John O'Donohue's. And so many others. As long as people are willing to share their insights, I'll keep listening! Thank you to Leah Lamb, Sounds True, and NetGalley for the audioARC.

Sacred Storytelling by Leah Lamb (narrator)

Leah is a trusted voice, she is the founder of the School for Sacred Storytelling, with a background in social work, theatre, and environmental media.

This is a journey into storytelling by a master, Leah Lamb. With her soft gentle voice, she shows us how storytelling is a living ancient practice and a primitive drive in human nature. It is as cosy as sitting by the fireside like our ancients listening to the village elder.

Learn to tell stories that open hearts, help heal the world, ignite change, court your own muse, spark creativity and awaken your inner voice.

I have never bought an audio book as a learning aid before. Preferring a book I can annotate and return to. Though this audiobook is a teaching aid and highly listenable. I would definitely return to it read it repeatedly.

It was published on 24 June 2025 and in August 2025 the publishers were still seeking reviews. It is on sale at Amazon UK for £22.74 and Sounds True USA for $44.98.

Thank you to Leah Lamb, Sounds True, and NetGalley for the audiobook. This is my own honest review

This was my first book on storytelling that I have read, and I really enjoyed the narration to this. The narration itself was a storytelling, and the narrator had a very soothing voice. I think this is probably better used as a print version because you have to follow along some prompts. It was an enjoyable read, and I’d probably listen to it again and take better notes. I think this book will find a perfect place in the market.
