Description

What if I told you that whatever it is you are doing, if it is done with love, is enough?

It All Counts is a fiercely compassionate and deeply personal exploration of faith, doubt, and the sacredness of everyday life. With humor, honesty, and theological insight, pastor and podcaster Natalia Terfa invites us to reimagine what it means to live a spiritual life--especially when it doesn't look like the version we were taught.

Through stories of grief, joy, digital ministry, nature, rituals, and rage walks around the lake, Terfa challenges the idea that faith only "counts" when it fits inside institutional boxes. Instead, she offers a liberating vision of spirituality rooted in authenticity, curiosity, and love. Whether you've been told your questions are too big, your worship too unconventional, or your body too broken, this book insists: You still belong. You are not alone. And yes--it all counts.

For spiritual seekers, deconstructing Christians, and anyone longing for a more expansive, inclusive, and embodied faith, It All Counts is both a balm and a rallying cry. With each chapter, Terfa dismantles shame-based theology and replaces it with grace, reminding us that God is not small, stingy, or confined to buildings--but present in every breath, every doubt, and every messy, beautiful moment of being human.

This book is a breath of fresh air for anyone who feels like they’re not “doing faith right.” Very insightful and well written, I’ll be recommending this one for sure.

This is one of the most impactful books I've read in years.

It All Counts offers an honest, compassionate look at faith and spirituality, uniquely challenging restrictive dogma, shame, and arbitrary rules to encourage authentic belief. Natalie Terfa writes with warmth and authenticity, creating a space where readers feel seen, understood, and invited to rethink faith beyond rigid expectations.

Being born and raised in the South without identifying as Christian was isolating. I've always seen myself as spiritual, but church settings felt confining, not freeing. I was drawn to other spiritual paths: curious about religions, appreciative of tarot and crystals, connected to nature and water, and felt something sacred in yoga and breathwork. Time and time again, I heard that these practice weren't holy nor of god. This book affirmed the common thread between them all: spirit, presence, creator, source, God.

It All Counts expanded my understanding of faith and where it can be found. It affirmed experiences I carried for years but lacked the words to describe. It inspired me to see the sacred in daily life, not just in buildings, rituals, or rules. For anyone wrestling with faith, belonging, or spirituality, you will find peace and comfort in these words.
