Description
The third book in The Death Chronicles is perfect for YA paranormal romance readers who want enemies-to-lovers and chosen-one stories.
Perfect for fans of the previous titles, and fans of "chosen one" stories like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Death is dying and has fallen into a realm of lost memories and souls, and in order to get him back, Faith jumped into the realm after him. Now she has to travel through various times, meeting his many past incarnations and facing the darkest parts of Death’s past, including a more evil version of himself, “Victorian Death.”
But even if Faith can “save” Death and bring him back to the present realm, what will be the ultimate price? She’ll have to decide if it’s one she’s willing to pay.

Death is My Frenemy takes everything I enjoy about this series—the dark romance, supernatural chaos, morally gray characters, and emotional intensity—and pushes it even further.
This time, Faith literally follows Death into a realm of lost memories and souls in an attempt to save him, which gives us a much deeper look at his past and the different versions of who he has been. I especially loved the concept of Faith encountering his past incarnations, including the much darker “Victorian Death.” It added so much more depth to a character who has always been complicated and mysterious.
Faith continues to be such an easy character to root for. She’s thrown into increasingly impossible situations, but her determination to save Death never wavers. Their relationship still has that addictive combination of love, frustration, danger, and “these two might actually destroy each other” energy that makes the series so entertaining.
I also really enjoyed how much more emotional this installment felt. Beneath all of the paranormal elements and darker moments, there’s a story about sacrifice and how far you’re willing to go for someone you love—especially when saving them might come with a devastating price.
Overall, Death is My Frenemy is a dark, dramatic, and emotional continuation of The Death Chronicles with enemies-to-lovers energy, morally gray romance, past lives, supernatural danger, and plenty of angst. If you’ve already fallen for Faith and Death’s chaotic relationship, this one will definitely keep you invested.

So far this is the only 3rd book in a series I've flown through. Typically, once I hit the 3rd book I get bored and struggle to get through it. But I stayed very interested in the plot of Death is My Frenemy.
I really enjoy Faith as the main character. She continues to be very relatable and witty. I love a book that can actually make me laugh. There's a lot of character growth and some twists that I definitely didn't expect but very much enjoyed.
The "cat and mouse" chase is what reels me in. Kat really knows how to keep the reader interested and how to write a great morally gray character. (And in all honesty I don't typically like morally gray, but I do enjoy Death)
It still baffles me that this series isn't more popular. I find it very refreshing in a sea full of repetitive tropes nowadays. Then again I've been a fan since the Wattpad days waiting for book 2 to come out. I loved it then and I love it even more now.

Death Is My Frenemy by Katarina E. Tonks was such a wild and entertaining read! 🖤💀 I loved the dark humor, chaotic energy, and the way the story managed to balance darker moments with plenty of fun. The characters kept me hooked, and I was definitely invested in seeing where all the mADness would lead.
A fun, quirky read with plenty of attitude—sometimes Death really does make the best frenemy. 💀✨

This was book three in the series and was so worth the wait! I never really knew where the story was going, but can say I was pleasantly surprised. The last quarter of the book broke my heart for Faith and for Death. It genuinely made me feel so much sadness and rage toward the situations they keep finding themselves in. I can't wait to read book four, it feels like it's going to be the book with the most angst so far. I look forward to adding the physical book to my shelf so it can join the first two books. If you're a fan of upper YA books, you should give this series a try. It's witty, fun, and emotional.

This book managed to bring me to tears. An amazing emotional rollercoaster and a perfect third book in the series, reaching the highest peak in the series so far and definitely making me cry at the end. I loved the changes from the Wattpad version — they only made the series stronger. I'm honestly sad that I read it so fast, because now the only thing I have left to do is reread it and then wait for the fourth book, which looks like it's shaping up to be the best in the series, with all of the plots coming to an awesome finale.
