Description

An amazing book that I found to be a truly unique way of looking at myself and my soul. As one who has continually coveted the material things in life such as financial success and money, this journey has led me to believe that these things do not “feed” the soul. Instead, forgiving others, perseverance when adversity hits, and kindness to yourself as well as to those that have wronged you—this will lead to greater contentment in life as well as less pain, anger, and suffering. The examples provided here (J.K. Rowling, Michael Jordan, Maya, Nelson Mandela and others) are incredible examples of true perseverance.

A wonderful journey which, if followed, can lead the reader into a more peaceful, more productive, and happier existence. Specific guidelines are provided, rather than the ambiguous suggestions you tend to find in other more common self-help books. I highly recommend this for anyone who has ever suffered in their lives, and, in all honesty, who hasn’t?

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Why does your Life journey lead you to suffer?

The Answer is to Heal You.

Your suffering is the epitome of a blessing in disguise. Wrapped in darkness and suffering, it removes the ground from beneath your feet and leaves you fearful, fragile and devoid of meaning in life.

The caterpillar is born with everything it needs, internally and externally, to become the butterfly. You are born with everything you need, inside of you and in your outside world, to become the best version of your self. The caterpillar suffers a death of itself inside the cocoon. This is the same shedding you do when you pass through a dark time of suffering in your soul and reboot to your true self.

Most beings that we adore or worship have gone through dark times in their life. This includes Christ, Buddha, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Oprah, Abraham Lincoln etc. This process is necessary as it re-defines a person, re-makes one character, chips away the darkness to bring out the luster of your Real Self. This is your METAMORPHOSIS.

From Suffering to Healing explores..

If you’re ready to become the best version of your self and shed the parts that no longer serve you, look no further, your Answers are here.

Which line stood out from all the others in the book?

Finally, it cannot be overstated that you must hold onto hope.

General Summary for Context:

More than just another self-help book, we learn how everything stems from our soul—how pain and suffering can be, while not eliminated, used to heal ourselves and guide us into forgiveness. Here we learn that using anger when we are suffering will not help us in achieving relief of any kind. Instead, we can channel the suffering, learn from it, and use it to expand our thinking and try different ways of dealing with it—meditation, deep breathing, journaling, etc.

Supportive Critique:

I didn’t understand the part about marriage. The author says she was obsessed with marriage but was able to cope in the absence of her loved one. Was she married? I found this paragraph a bit unclear.

I believe and understand my soul, so this book was a wonderful book for me. When I started going through the transformation of evolving into who I was to become, I had no idea what was happening. I think there are many people that this is happening to them, and finding this book, will help them understand what is happening. The things the book talks about, I experienced it.
Reading the title before reading the book, I wasn't sure about that, but as I was reading the book, and thinking back to when I was starting to go through this part of my journey, I knew this was the perfect title.
I think the book will be wonderful for those who have started going through the transformation, but it was helpful to me, as I realized that this happens to a lot of people, and I understand what was happening. I continue on my journey, and life just gets better since I started down this path.
I received an ARC from BooksGoSocial through NetGalley. I think there are many that will understand this book, It isn't a textbook, it flows along like reading a story, that will give you insight on your soul.
